What is Success?

What does it really take to create success?

Isn't that a great question? If you're like me,  you automatically start a mental checklist of success.

We know that it's important to put ourselves in the environment of other successful people.

What does this mean? Watch who you're hanging out with! The Law of Association tells us that we become like who we spend our time with. If you're spending your time with a bunch of complainers, it becomes quite easy to connect with the group by complaining.

On the other hand, if you're looking to create bigger results in your life, do you hang out with a uninspired friend? NO! You go and find mentors to model your actions after. You pick their brain. You get ideas and tidbits from them. You implement their strategies.

What Can I Do To Create Success?

1. Be good to others. Be generous of your time and connecting with others. What you give out will come back to you in greater measures.

2. Be of value to the world.  Be your best product. Just by you raising your standard for yourself, others will rise to the occasion and you'll create a wave of expecting greatness around you.

3. Love what you do. When you love what you do, you'll put off a positive vibrational energy that is a huge attraction for others. They want to be a part of it! Most people don't love what they do, so you'll be like a beacon in the night to others becuase of your passion for what you do.

4. Walk the walk. Be a person of integrity and do what you say you'll do. People will follow you becuase of your word is gold. Walk the walk, not talk the talk.

You'll note that money is not on that list? All the characteristics listed have to do with being your best self. Money is a by-product of your service to others and living in your greatness. Champions, leaders and winners, we all know that to create a prosperous, never ending flow of money we MUST not attach ourselves to needing money. When we "need" money it is nowhere to be found! Need mode is creating resistance and force and we know that money can't come to us when its being forced. Focus on the process, the journey...not the results.

Stand in your greatness my friends!

I'll look forward to your results,

Tammi

Stepping In Faith

"Take the first step in faith. You don’t have to see the whole staircase, just take the first step." ~ Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

Hi Everyone this is Bill Putnam here...

I love this quote by Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. because it says so much about people moving themselves toward their goals. Sometimes it's easy to fall into the trap of trying to have every detail figured out before we move forward with our ideas.

When the reality is, taking that first step is the most important step of all. It reminds me of the saying, "When you pray, move your feet." Having the idea, applying the Law of Attraction, having clear goals in place, and following through with faith and action are what lead us up the staircase to our destiny. Just as climbing up the staircase is done step by step, achieving your goals is done step by step.

Bill

Face the Fear

Bill and I took our two girls, McKenna and Grace to a nearby waterpark called Schlitterbahn. (Rated #1 in waterparks on the Travel channel.) Yes, it was a glorious day with sunshine, cool water and fun hanging out with our kids on a Monday.

The thing that really stuck with me was watching my 5 year old daughter Grace. She just learned how to swim 2 weeks ago.

While out by our pool, Grace says "Mom, I'm going to do my swim lessons." A moment later, she says, "Look I'm swimming!" And she was! Now, you could say, that she was an apt student in her swim lessons class, the only thing is...she doesn't take swim lessons. Just a young girl that has decided to learn how to swim because everyone around her can swim.

She hasn't heard from other kids that swimming is hard or that 5 year old can't pick up a penny off the bottom of the pool. She would teach herself to learn something new each day. Doggie paddle swim, swimming with her face in the water, going under water, swimming across the pool, jumping into the pool swimming to picking up a penny off the bottom of the pool. Fabulous to witness first hand!

That was 2 weeks ago. Yesterday, Schlitterbahn.

Big slides, white water tube rides and a huge amount of courage.

Of course, we offered the "kiddie area."

No go.

With her lifejacket on, Grace wanted to do a big slide. Yes, as her mother, I felt a little stab of apprehension but I knew that Schlitterbahn prided itself with its safety with lifeguards stationed throughout the many rides. Okay, it did help a bit to see a few other small children go down.

Big slide and a 5 year old with no obvious fear.

Of course, the slide was no problem for her the first time or the many times after that.

Always looking for my life lessons, I started watching this beautiful 5 year old girl that was not going to live in fear. She would see little ones all around her on tube rides and giant slides that would balk and their parent would have to walk them back down the stairs. Grace was powerful to watch, even her 14 year old sister, McKenna was saying, "How can she do that?" (Go on the big rides without fear.)

Well, here's the lesson. Yes, Grace probably felt some fear, but was not going to miss out on the experience by living in the fear. She knew the alternative was the kiddie area and that wasn't what she wanted to do.

So, what can we learn from a sweet little 5 year old girl?

Are you allowing fear to stop you? In what ways are you allowing fear to control your life? Are you going to be stuck in the kiddie area or are you going to face the fear and do it anyway?

I'll look forward to hearing your results!

Know You're a Champion

I love college baseball.

Well, maybe I should clarify. I love Texas Longhorn college baseball, especially when they're in the College World Series!

Texas Longhorns Coach Augie Garrido is an amazing coach. Can you believe that this is his 41st year being a head coach?  He's got just what you'd want in a great coach...he's tough, but fair, a motivator that knows just when to pull a player aside for a word of encouragement.

I'm a sports gal that's for sure. I live my life in coaching mode with my family and friends as well as teammates.

Well, here are Coach Garrido's words of wisdom,"You have to know you're a champion before you become a champion."

Yes, it's all in the knowing...the rest follows!

Once again, it comes back to the BE DO HAVE principle. BE the person you desire to be first in your thoughts and DO as he would do, to then HAVE as he would have.

It's begins with the knowing.

Knowing you can be:

a successful business person,

or a better parent,

or a college student,

or an author of a book,

or a runner,

or a non-smoker,

or a millionaire,

or a world traveler and

or a mother.

It depends on who you desire to BE.

Knowing=Belief In Self.

Knowing=Belief In The Unseen.

We often call this faith. Faith is the belief in the unseen, it's a certainty.

Knowing is not hoping, wishing or worrying.

Knowing is absolute. There is no wiggle room.

No questioning or doubting. Zero fear.

Why?

Because you already know that you can do it.

You can see it, you can feel it.

You've had that experiece in your life, haven't you?

For me, I knew I could run a marathon back when I could only run 3 miles at a time. I knew I'd live in Colorado before I even stepped foot in the state. I knew I could work from home and be successful. In my mind, these were givens.

You've heard the expression, "It's a given." I equate it with the feeling of "of course."

No wondering if I could do it. I just knew.

When was it for you?

I'll look forward to hearing your experiences!

Knowing You're a Champion,

Tammi

BOLD Decisions

On our 9 acres we have an abundance of deer. Bucks, does and this time of year, the sweet little fawns. The does will often be alone with their newborn, it’s almost as they’re saying, "Hey, give me a little alone time, will you?"

Most of our deer are curious observers except one...Delta.

Okay, we named her.

Actually, my 5 year old daughter, Grace looked at her one day across the pool fence and said, "Let’s call her Delta."

Here’s the interesting thing about our Delta. She seems to be a young mother. We see her milk bag and she doesn’t have any scars or nicked ears. Delta’s coat is in great shape and she just has the look of youth about her.

We couldn’t help notice her after she kept coming up and watching us swim or have lunch out by our pool. She would be alone peeking through the fence.

That’s when we started feeding her apples and carrots. I know it sounds corny, but when Delta looks at you with her doe brown eyes, you're entranced.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0Rcy4k6MsI4  (You can see our girls feeding Delta here.)

You know, once you name them, they become pet-like.

I know, I know....wild animal and all.

So, Delta gets her snacks everyday. She comes right before dusk every evening.

But lately, she has started bringing a friend. We haven't named her yet. Mostly because she won't even get close to us. Can't blame her, right? But here's the thing...she sees Delta munching down carrots and pink lady apples right beside her, yet she won't step close enough to get her own carrot. We know it might be a little stressful for "No Name" deer to get her own carrot, so we put it near her but she still have to move to it.

Now, here's insight. She won't eat it. She looks at it. You can tell she wants it. Yet, nothing. Zip. Zilch.

You may say, Tammi...Mmmm interesting deer story, but here's what I want you to take away today.

So, often we are getting what we ask for...and we'll turn and look away.

We find the perfect vacation then talk ourselves out of it. We finally find in the mall, the exact watch that you've wanted for forever, then walk out of the store, telling yourself that you don't really need it.

I see it with people that are eager for a home business ready to get home to their kids, excited that they have found a real opportunity then get scared because of what friends or family might think about them doing something different.

Don't live your life as the No Name deer.

For you to create the life you want, it takes BOLD decisions.

It will take making different decisions then you've made in the past. Or else you would've already created the life that you want.

Nike had it right all along, "Just do it."

No excuses, no  more of I'll wait until I have more money, more time or better health.

Delta the deer is rewarded because she is willing to go for the carrot everyday.

She's not worrying about the other deer. She's not wondering what that deer thinks. She is living her life to the fullest and she wants the carrot.

Be BOLD in your decisions today my friends!

Opportunity Today: Make at least one BOLD decision today. (Not tomorrow, next week, a month from now...today!)

I'll look forward to hearing your results.

Attracting Greatness,

Tammi Putnam
