Isn't that a great question? If you're like me, you automatically start a mental checklist of success.

We know that it's important to put ourselves in the environment of other successful people.

What does this mean? Watch who you're hanging out with! The Law of Association tells us that we become like who we spend our time with. If you're spending your time with a bunch of complainers, it becomes quite easy to connect with the group by complaining.

On the other hand, if you're looking to create bigger results in your life, do you hang out with a uninspired friend? NO! You go and find mentors to model your actions after. You pick their brain. You get ideas and tidbits from them. You implement their strategies.

What Can I Do To Create Success?

1. Be good to others. Be generous of your time and connecting with others. What you give out will come back to you in greater measures.

2. Be of value to the world. Be your best product. Just by you raising your standard for yourself, others will rise to the occasion and you'll create a wave of expecting greatness around you.

3. Love what you do. When you love what you do, you'll put off a positive vibrational energy that is a huge attraction for others. They want to be a part of it! Most people don't love what they do, so you'll be like a beacon in the night to others becuase of your passion for what you do.

4. Walk the walk. Be a person of integrity and do what you say you'll do. People will follow you becuase of your word is gold. Walk the walk, not talk the talk.

You'll note that money is not on that list? All the characteristics listed have to do with being your best self. Money is a by-product of your service to others and living in your greatness. Champions, leaders and winners, we all know that to create a prosperous, never ending flow of money we MUST not attach ourselves to needing money. When we "need" money it is nowhere to be found! Need mode is creating resistance and force and we know that money can't come to us when its being forced. Focus on the process, the journey...not the results.

Stand in your greatness my friends!

I'll look forward to your results,

What has happened to the “never say die” attitude?

Where’s our Rocky mentality?

For some people it takes longer to create their dream. Some people have more baggage that they’ve carried with them for years. Some people are willing to let go of their baggage and some people never do.

Remember Rocky? Yes, I know Rocky Balboa is fictional. I get it.

But here’s the lessons learned from Rocky.

1. Willingness To Do What It Takes

Rocky hitting frozen beef in the meat cooler. Probably my least favorite scene in Rocky, but the one that shows his willingness to do what it takes for as long as it takes. I would guess that most people remember this scene also...along with running of those giant set up steps!

2. Surround Yourself With People That Believe In You

In Rocky’s case, his wife Adrienne. He yells her name after he wins or loses. She is his rock. Put people around you that are “for” you. Not “with” you, “with” you people leave when the going gets tough. “For” you people are going to tell you when they seeing you not being your best self. Andy Andrews says that a great friend expects the best out of you, not a “yes person.” Surround yourself with people that are in your corner!

3. Stay Humble

Remember what happened to Rocky when he became an ego maniac? Clubber Lang. Be confident and sure of yourself, just not obnoxious. Nobody likes that.

4. Have a Great Mentor

Apollo Creed, need I say more? Hang out with people that are going to bring out the best in you? How do you get to be great at your business, sport, parenting? Surround yourself with powerful mentors! I have mentors for business, for healthy living, for my parenting, for being the person I want to be.

5. Be Open To Change

Remember Rocky was a southpaw (a lefty.) Then he had to learn how to box with his right hand as the dominant hand. He had to take his natural ability and way of doing things and relearn everything all over again. Be open to learning. When you are open to new experiences, opportunities, people in your life, your life blossoms.

6. Keep The Eye of The Tiger

Keep your eye on the goal. Distractions will take you right out of the game. Write down your goals and keep them with you. I have my vision and goals posted in 5 different parts of our home and when I walk by I stop and read it. When I read my vision for my future that I'm in the process of creating, it's a powerful experience assisting me with keeping my eye of the tiger.

7. Have a Sense of Humor

Don't we all love Rocky's humor? That's one of the great surprises while watching the movies. You see this massive, tough boxer cracking little jokes and teasing others. Keep your sense of humor. Life is meant to be JOYFUL and fun! If you're not having fun at what you're doing, do something else. Life is too short to spend all your time in a business, job or relationship that you can't stand.

When you have a Rocky mentality, knowing that you're the champ and that nothing is going to stop you from creating your life the way you want it, that's when things really get exciting.

Don't you see?

You've then drawn your line in the sand. You will always expect greatness. What will you attract? More greatness. That's why it seems so easy for some people, that's why it seems as if they get all the breaks, creating money easily. They made their choice...greatness. Not wishing, hoping or thinking they'll do something about a different life down the road. They are moving with ACTION, just like Rocky.

How can you take your own Rocky stand for yourself?

Do you require a more support cast around you?

Are you a thinker more than a doer?

Do you get all knowing only to fall flat on your face?

Everyone can learn from Rocky's lessons, I know I have and continue to learn from one of my favorite movie characters of all time (well, let's not count Rocky IV or Rocky V.) I'll look forward to hearing your comments and what you've learned from ROCKY.

Bruce Barton

I was thinking of this quote the other day when I had a business associate say to me, "You don't understand you've had it easy."

I thought, "You've got to be kidding me."

Easy? Was it easy when I lived in a 480 sq. ft. log cabin with no electricity, no running water and an outhouse out back? Was it easy when it snowed and I had to snowshoe a mile up the road to even get to the cabin. Was it easy cooking every meal on a wood burning stove? Did you even know you can make spagetti on a woodstove?

Was it easy? No.

Was it worth it?

Absolutely.

You see, my dream (along with my husband Bill) was to build a log home in the Colorado mountains. During that time, we found a business opportunity that allowed us to work from home, which meant that we had no internet access only a telephone to do our business. Not easy.

But, you see it didn't matter because we saw our vision for the future clearly. We knew that with each step we took we were moving forward to our goal. It's a great thing to be able to build your life based upon what you're willing to give. Success demands commitment. When you demonstrate commitment, it's telling the universe, "Hey, I'm serious about this."

Too many people say they want a better life, yet are willing to wait until that life they desire comes to them. You move first. It's kinda like chess or checkers, nothing happens until you make the first move.

So you say, "I have a goal...but I don't have (the money, the time, the support, the ability etc...) Stop! Look at what you can do. Can you make a extra call, or send an email? Can you enlist help of friends? Can you ask someone for assistance that you don't really want to ask? Demonstrate how serious you are about getting your goal. If you make this you're practice, then you'll reap rewards greater than you can even imagine.

It's the people that are out there practicing when noone's looking, when others are home and you're the one running at 6:00 a.m. It's going beyond the extra mile that creates results.

What do you think? How are you traveling the second, undemanded mile?

I'll look forward to hearing your results!

If you haven't read it, it's the story of a shepherd boy that wants more for his life. He sets out to find a treasure at the Pyramids in Egypt. While on his journey he meets different people that assist him in finding his "Personal Legend."

A story that stood out for me, was while in the desert the boy meets the alchemist. They travel by camels through the desert and come upon a hole in the ground. The alchemist gets down off his camel and reaches into the hole, sticking his arm way deep into the hole. He pulls out a cobra snake. He takes the snake and puts him on the ground and then draws a circle in the sand around the snake. The snake doesn't move out of the circle. The circle seems to contain the snake. Then the alchemist erases the circle in the sand and the snake slithers off into the desert.

How often do we do that?

We allow our boundaries, limitations and perceptions to keep us stuck. We say we desire a different life, yet given an opportunity we let it pass. Just like the snake, we don't even consider leaving our comfort zone. We don't want to leave all that we know for the unknown, whether that means starting school, a new business, having a baby, getting married, moving out of state etc... Whatever it is for you!

Don't you see?

All the boundaries and limitations are put their by....Us! We put these self restrictions on ourselves of what we think we're capable of.

To create the life that we say that we want, we must make different decisions...or else we'd already have that life.

Different decisions=different results.

Look at the "story" you've told yourself about why you can't do something. Why you can't have a baby...too old, not enough money. Why you can't start a business...no funding, no support. Why you can't move out of state...don't know anyone, too far from family. You can take any story that you've created for yourself and look at it objectively from a distance. You can see it much clearer from someone on the outside looking in.

What will it take?

1. Moving with Boldness

People may call you "crazy," but you'll know that you have a goal in mind. Author Andy Andrews tells this story about how others would tell him that he's not normal and with that he knew he was on the right track!

2. It's Okay to Feel Uncomfortable

You can only make changes with embracing that feeling of being uncomfortable. This is what you're looking for! If you're not feeling that feeling, you're not out of your comfort zone. Stretch yourself! It's going to take this to create your goal. I'll tell people, if reaching your goal was easy, you'd already have it in your life...it's going to take transforming how you think, what you say and how you act to create a big goal.

3. Today Not Tomorrow

So often when an opportunity arises, you must seize it. Do it today, not tomorrow. Our minds will often tell us, "Let's just wait until I get everything ready. I'm not ready yet." No! This is when you must step forward in the faith that you're headed in the right direction.

4. Focus on What You Want

It's easy to focus on all the things we don't want or like, in fact it's our own little negative party. Focus on what you want! The Law of Attraction says that whatever you give your energy and attention to, you'll attract more of the same.

5. Stare Down the Naysayers

Yes, the negative folks love to come out of the woodwork and tell us about how we can't create our dreams. One personal note here, I don't share my goals with people that aren't in my inner circle. I just don't. The reason? Because I learned a long time ago, that the naysayers love to fill you will fear, doubt and worry about achieving your goal. Stare the naysayer down, even if it's your closest family member and know that you can create your goal. Put yourself among people that are going to show you the exact way to create it, not people that are going to have you doubting your every move.

I love this quote! I've found that most people have an idea of what they want and often when it's actually time to receive their desire, they push it away.

Example: I have a friend that would always say that he wanted to live in Colorado. This was his ideal life, to live in the mountains with the elk and eagle surrounding him. Yet when given the chance to move to the mountains, he said, "No, I'll just stay here. I'm comfortable here." Now, I'd heard about Colorado for 20 years or so. 20 years of wanting to live in Colorado but when he actually receives his desire, he's not ready to take the leap. He was all talk, not someone that was really ready to go for it.

Some people are dreamers, but not doers. For a change in your life, it will require you to take ACTION.

Now, here's a funny sidenote in this story. Bill and I went for a visit to Colorado after talking with this friend and following his suggestion of seeing the majesty of the Rocky Mountains. On our visit, after witnessing the raw beauty of Colorado, we decided to move! We took the leap. Why? Because we had a "go for it" attitude. We weren't afraid to go for our goal.

I talk with people all the time that say they want to work from home, that being at home with their kids is the #1 priority in their life, but when I show them a lucrative way to work from home, they allow doubt or skepticim to stop them from getting what they want. They'll share their idea of coming home to their kids with their family or friends and someone will them them that it just can't be done. That there's stability in working a job. (Of course, they don't mention downsizing, lay off, pay cuts during this conversation.)

How many people are living in fear, doubt and worry and won't move forward in their life?

Too many.

How do you move beyond the fear, doubt and worry?

Have a goal that is more PASSIONATE then all the fears, all the doubts and all the worry.

What's your goal?

If you can't tell me straight out, then get clear about what you want. You should be able to name it. If you don't know what you want, how can you expect to receive it?

Would YOU Walk Across Fire?

I spent this last week in beautiful Cancun, Mexico.

I was attending a powerful conference called, "Breakthrough."

With a name like Breakthrough, I'm already wondering what new light will be shed on my life. I'm already having conversations with myself about what known limiting beliefs I can leave behind.

Now, I had heard that we would be doing a firewalk and I'd even signed a release saying that I would be firewalking with the group.

Have you ever done a firewalk?

Honestly, I had seen pictures of people firewalking, but I hadn't really thought that much about it. I always thought, "Who would even want to do that?"

Well, it seems...Me.

When I first saw the large bonfire, I was amazed that large fire was going to be "the one."

Actually, the trained firewalking crew waits until the fire reaches a certain point. I guess the ideal temperature is 1200 degrees Farenheit. 1200 degrees? That's HOT.

So like any normal person, my mind kicks into overdrive. Is it going to hurt? What if I fall? I guess stop-drop-and roll is out. My mind is being protective, right? I mean, come one...Who in their "right mind" wants to walk on fire?

What I know, is our mind keeps us stuck. Our mind wants to keep us in our comfort zone. What we intuitively know is that for us to have different results we must move out of our comfort zone.

Hence...the firewalk.

What's the whole purpose of walking on the fire?

It's to break down all these illusions and perceptions that we have about what we perceive as difficult. We create all these stories about our life...all the reasons we can't achieve what we want. There's not enough time, money, support etc..

The thing about a fire walk is you realize that anything less than a 100% committment to the walk is painful, actual pain. I mean, Ouch! My toe is stinging! Makes sense right? You certainly don't want to stop half way through!

When I stepped up to the fire because it was my turn, I went...with focus and expectation of ease. I walked across the fire not because I can, but because I must. This "must" represents all the times I've allowed my story to stop me in my tracks.

What was my story? For me, my biggest reason for coming home was my little girl that took me so long to have, and this big "why" became my biggest reason as to "why not." Why not, to go somewhere or not to participate. I realized when I walked across that fire that I alone had placed that restriction on myself...no one else, only me.

How often have you allowed your limiting beliefs to stop you from taking the trip you wanted, starting your own business, running a marathon or calling a old friend to reconnect?

How many times when it was your turn to walk across the fire, you stopped and turned back? You see, the fire is just symbolic to most of us. (For me I was blessed to experience the real thing this last week.) For most, when the pain of life gets intense, when things look bad, when the bank account has dried up that becomes the story. This is when most turn and run.

And when you step up to your fire, you realize the fire is the test. The test of how bad do you want the life that you say that you want. Yes, it can be a little painful to take a different path from our comfortable life...but here's the thing, my friends, the "pain" is birthing the new you. There is no baby without a labor, no butterfly without the crysallis, no new body without closing the fridge door.

You deserve greatness. Listen to Bon Jovi reminding us of our greatness. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oY_RY6CBfCI

You weren't born to follow, you're born to lead. Stare down your fire and go through it, step by step. I'll look forward to hearing your results!

What's so interesting about this to me is that we would have stayed with the other company forever but when they morphed into another company overnight, we stood by them...

Until...

We realized that they were headed in one direction and it wasn't what we wanted. It tough sometimes when your ego gets in the way and says, "Wait, you've made a ton of money there. Just hold on."

But, then you have this feeling in the pit of your stomach, that you're until to live with.

A feeling that demands you do something about it.

That's what happened to us.

It wasn't based on money or results, it was based on following our PASSION and PURPOSE.

Our passion and purpose was crying for a change. Scary, heck yes, after 7 years.

Here's the thing I kept thinking...Out of darkness, comes light. (Helen Keller I believe.)

You ever have those times in your life when things just aren't going that well and you don't even realize it until you look back?

You didn't even know because you were in denial to yourself and others.

Yeah, been there.

Well, this is what happened to me. I had no clue that my life was heading in a direction that I didn't even like or want until...I was lifted out of my darkness.

It was like this giant hand helping out of the muck.

A hand that said, "I appreciate you. I value you. I want to hear what you have to say. I think you're important."

Who wouldn't want to grab hold of that hand?

There is so much meaning behind seeing the light. Literally. A light can be finding your way, a passion within being lit, a happy, joyous feeling...

It's funny because of going through the darkness, now the light is so appreciated. Our new company is so much more than we ever dreamed possible, we have a like minded community as well as this tremendous product like that we're still looking at each other with a "can you believe this is even real" look. It NEVER would have happened if we were willing to just be stuck.

But, we weren't.

I remember the night before we found our new company, Bill and I had a heart to heart and said a prayer together, "Please God show us a way, show us that we're meant to do what we're doing." The next morning we found our company.

It was the willingness to be open to the universe delivering when we didn't know HOW it would deliver.

So my friends know that Bill and myself are so in love with our new company and it never would have happened if we had been frustrated and ready for a new vision and purpose for our life.

Have you had an experience like this? I'd love to hear it!

To Your Greatness,

Sometimes, it feels like we don't even know our purpose or worse...have lost it somewhere along the way.

Well, it's certaintly not lost under the bed with the remaining lone sock.

So, what is your life purpose? Where did it go?

Your life purpose is quite a simple matter...It is the reason you were born.

There are some key steps towards finding and living your life's purpose.

1. Step Away From Your Busy Life. How can you expect to even think about your life and what you want if you don't even know? We get so busy with our families and taking care of them. We must step away from our normal day to day life to get clarity on what we want. It all starts with this one question...What do I love?

What makes my heart sing? What do I feel so good doing that it doesn't feel like work?

2. Go Within. The quiet reflective time that is aligning with our source. You are aligning with your love. Re-discovering what you love is essential and this can only happen within yourself.

3. Light Your Fire. What really lights your fire? If you're not quite sure, look at who you're attracted to. Maybe you're attracted to the vision of Oprah, Michael Beckwith and Abraham-Hicks, like I am. I'm sure you can find people that really resonate with your passion and vision.

4. Mastermind with Like-Minded Individuals. Tap into their energy and mentoring. With the availability of the internet you can follow your mentors on Twitter, friend them on Facebook and watch them on YouTube. Find their website and sign up for their newsletter. What a nice feeling getting an email from someone that is leading in the way toward your purpose.

5. Follow Your Bliss. When you follow your passion or bliss, you'll never go wrong. Sometimes your head will say, "Are you crazy? You know you don't have the money, (the time, the brains, the personality or whatever it's for you) to do that! When you move forward and follow your passion or bliss, that you'll never go wrong.

I'll look forward to hearing your results!

Attracting Greatness Together,
