Expect It!
Sunday, July 5, 2009 at 7:27PM One of my greatest joys is being a mother to my two girls. Yesterday, the 4th of July, we headed out for our traditional Dairy Queen and fireworks celebration at dusk. When we got to town, we noticed that our small town was looking suspiciously empty for the the 4th. No cars lining up at the park, no crowds and no fireworks.
No fireworks!
I didn't even dawn on us that there might not be fireworks in our town.
Every year, year after year, "ooohs" and "aaahs" were a standard with the 4th of July. So, as I prepared my girls for no fireworks this year, my oldest daughter said, "Let's just think positive and expect them."
Yes, that was from my 14 yr. old daughter, McKenna.
Expectation of receiving what we desire.
So, we went and got our Brownie Batter Blizzards and decided to do a decidedly country move...take a drive.
And there it was...
FIREWORKS!
Small but mighty.
Not the powerful whole town fireworks, but a beautiful display of a private citizen celebrating their love of the holiday.
We drove to the local park in the dark, with our blizzard reminents and got out and sat and watched the pink, purples and oranges exploding in the sky.
The expectation of seeing the fireworks. Yes, to be reminded by our greatest teachers (our kids) that all things are possible...even when we're not seeing any evidence in the moment of what is manifesting.
Beautiful!
Attracting Greatness,
Tammi

TheLaw of Attraction teaches that we attract into our lives whatever we focus on
Great post! I love your daughter's insight; so young but very insightful. Once you think of positive thoughts, positive events would surely follow. Things don't come out the way we expect it but if we try to gain a better perspective of things i.e. looking at the big picture, we can easily adjust to the ups and downs of our life.
